So, why did we open The General Story

We want to find great ways to engage people on important topics, like reducing food waste and carbon emissions, using smart technologies, in a fun and interactive way.

Located in the centre of Adelaide’s food and culinary hub and celebrating the clean, green food we produce in South Australia, The General Story brings to life some of the commonly wasted household food items to personally tell their story and to learn about how we can better use the food we buy, minimise food waste and reduce our carbon emissions.

This collaboration is led by the Adelaide Smart City Studio, Carbon Neutral Adelaide and the creative agency Sandpit. It is proudly supported by the Adelaide Central Market Authority, OzHarvest, the Government of South Australia and City of Adelaide.
